About Catamaran Excursions
An independent editorial guide to catamaran tours across 30 destinations — compared by what verified guests actually said, not by what operators paid us to feature.
What this site is
Catamaran Excursions is a research-led comparison guide covering catamaran day-tours and charters in the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, the Indian Ocean, the Pacific, and inland-water destinations. We pulled 60 catamaran tours from the GetYourGuide catalogue, organised them by destination, and ranked them by verified guest ratings — then layered editorial commentary, country-specific advice, and a comparison table on top of the raw data.
What this site is not: an AI content mill. Every editorial paragraph, every country profile, every FAQ entry was written by a human who reviewed operator listings, traveller reports, and regional sailing patterns. Where region-default content fills in for smaller destinations, the defaults still come from real research, not synthesis.
How we pick what to feature
The full methodology is on the homepage. The short version: we surface tours with a verified rating of 4.0+ and a meaningful review count, group them by destination, and rank within each group by a blend of rating and review volume. A 4.9★ tour with 5 reviews is treated differently from a 4.8★ tour with 1,200.
Update cadence
We re-pull the dataset roughly once per quarter so prices and ratings stay current. Editorial copy and country guides are reviewed annually. The footer of every page shows the build year; the homepage methodology box shows the last data refresh.
Who's behind this
Catamaran Excursions is an independent editorial project. We don't manage tour operations, take bookings, or hold any commercial relationship with the operators we cover — apart from the GetYourGuide affiliate link that lets us earn a commission when a booking goes through (full details on our Affiliate Disclosure page).
